Membership Details

First and foremost, ALL Kenilworth residents and property owners are welcome and invited to participate in any and all Kenilworth Residents Association activities, regardless of the resident’s annual donations (dues) payment status.

So, why should residents pay anything if they can attend any event or activity KRA organizes?

The KRA incurs expenses associated with managing the organization and some of the events it sponsors. Membership donations offset KRA costs and help fund the treasury for the future. Payment of membership donations designates residents as "members in good standing" and further qualifies residents to be eligible to serve on the KRA board. While donations are voluntary, collecting them has a direct impact on KRA’s Budget and whether events are handled as "fundraisers" or just for free.

 

In 2019 the KRA Board decided against stipulating a specific dues payment, albeit a low one, in favor of moving to donations, accepting any amount for membership. It was hoped that we could move to more free events under this approach rather than charging for each event. (Collections actually rose after this decision in 2019 but in 2020, due to the pandemic, most all events were cancelled). We do recommend an annual donation of $25, but any amount will be accepted.

The KRA is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit and as such, any payments to KRA (donations) are tax deductible. Suggested annual donations are $25 per household.
